Physician-led pediatric PM&R
Pediatric PM&R considers how a medical or developmental condition affects movement, comfort, mobility, self-care, participation, and daily function. The evaluation is physician-led and may address medical management, functional goals, equipment needs, spasticity-related concerns, and coordination with other members of the child’s care team.
Musculoskeletal and functional needs are presented first because they commonly shape daily activities; neurological conditions may also be evaluated when they fall within the practice’s PM&R scope.
Every request is reviewed individually
Pediatric requests are considered case by case without a fixed minimum age. Age alone does not confirm acceptance, clinician assignment, location, or appointment availability.
What an evaluation may consider
- The child’s medical and developmental history
- Movement, posture, strength, joint motion, gait, balance, and mobility
- Musculoskeletal pain or functional limitations
- Muscle tone, stiffness, or spasticity-related needs
- Self-care, school, play, sleep, positioning, and participation
- Braces, mobility equipment, adaptive equipment, or other supports
- Prior evaluations, therapy reports, imaging, and specialist records
The evaluation does not promise a diagnosis, therapy, equipment, medication, injection, procedure, or particular result.
Care coordination
Care may include coordination with therapists, equipment providers, neurologists, primary-care clinicians, schools, and other specialists when appropriate. Physmedi’s role is medical PM&R evaluation, management, and coordination within the services the practice provides.
Coordination does not mean that every outside service is ordered, covered, available, or provided by Physmedi.

Locations and availability
More than one Physmedi office may be available for pediatric evaluation, but the appropriate clinician and location are determined case by case. The team reviews the request before confirming any office or appointment option.

- The reason for the request and the functional activities affected
- Primary-care, pediatric, hospital, rehabilitation, or specialist notes
- Therapy evaluations and school or developmental reports when relevant
- Imaging, diagnostic testing, medication, and allergy information
- Braces, mobility devices, or equipment information
- Insurance, referral, and authorization information

Frequently asked questions
Is there a fixed minimum age?
No fixed minimum age is published. Every pediatric request is reviewed case by case to determine whether Physmedi is an appropriate setting and which clinician may be suitable.
Does Physmedi provide therapy in the office?
No. Physmedi does not currently provide physical, occupational, speech, or other therapy services in its offices.
Can families request Dr. Correa?
A preference may be shared, but the team must confirm clinical fit, clinician, location, records, coverage requirements, and availability.
Does submitting a request confirm an appointment?
No. It begins a secure review and does not schedule or confirm an appointment or clinician.
