Build a long-term outpatient practice with a physician-owned Central Florida team.
Physical Medicine Institute (Physmedi) is an independent, physician-owned PM&R practice serving Central Florida since 2010. We are seeking one board-certified or board-eligible physiatrist to join our outpatient team and provide thoughtful, longitudinal care focused on function, mobility, independence, and quality of life across our Orlando and Clermont clinics.

The clinical practice
Thoughtful, longitudinal outpatient PM&R care
The physician will evaluate new and established patients, develop individualized treatment plans, coordinate rehabilitation care, and manage a broad range of outpatient PM&R conditions.
Core clinical scope
- Musculoskeletal and spine disorders
- Sports, overuse, and work-related functional conditions
- Peripheral nerve disorders and entrapment neuropathies
- Neurologic rehabilitation needs, gait and balance problems, and functional impairment
- Chronic non-interventional pain and complex longitudinal rehabilitation care
Diagnostic and office-based services
Based on training, competency, credentialing, interest, and practice need, the role may include EMG/NCS, trigger-point or soft-tissue injections, and botulinum toxin injections for spasticity. These services complement—but do not define—the position.
This is not an interventional-spine position. The role does not include fluoroscopy-guided epidural injections, facet procedures, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, or other fluoroscopic spine procedures.
Independent medical judgment
Medication management
Medication management is a substantial part of this role. The physician must be comfortable managing complex regimens, including controlled medications when clinically appropriate, with careful monitoring, documentation, and independent medical judgment. Physmedi does not use prescribing quotas or require continuation of inappropriate therapy.
Schedule and locations
A clear Orlando and Clermont footprint
Full-time weekday clinics
This is a full-time outpatient opportunity with full weekday clinics Monday through Friday at launch. There is no hospital call, inpatient rehabilitation coverage, inpatient rounding, or scheduled weekend clinic obligation.
Orlando and Clermont
The physician will rotate between Physmedi’s Orlando and Clermont clinics. Recurring clinic days, session times, documentation expectations, and travel treatment will be agreed before the start date.
As the practice grows, an additional Central Florida location—including a potential site north of Clermont—may be discussed; no recurring location change will be made without advance mutual agreement.

Clear terms and an in-house team
Operational support
Medical assistants support rooming and day-to-day clinic workflow. Physmedi’s in-house team manages scheduling, referrals, authorizations, credentialing coordination, billing, collections, and core administration. Physmedi also arranges and pays for malpractice coverage for the agreed services.
Compensation conversation
Physmedi will explain the engagement structure, compensation methodology, payment timing, malpractice terms, and physician-paid expenses early in the process and confirm final terms in writing. Compensation will reflect experience, agreed scope, schedule, and performance expectations.
Qualifications
What we are looking for
- MD or DO with completed PM&R residency training
- Board certified in PM&R or within the applicable ABPMR board-eligibility period
- Unrestricted Florida medical license, or ability to obtain one before starting
- Active DEA registration and required Florida prescribing credentials by the clinical start date
- Eligibility for payer enrollment and credentialing
- Strong clinical judgment, responsible prescribing, communication, documentation, and teamwork
- EMG/NCS and office-based injection experience are welcomed; Spanish is helpful but not required
